Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

How you choose to promote your flatshare website is left entirely to you, but where do you start?

The first thing that you will have to consider is what your budget.  This will determine which options are available to you.

For those on a shoe string budget, the best method would be to optimise keywords and focus upon a search engine optimisation strategy.  This means getting your website ranked highly in the major search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo for relevant keyword searches.  The best way to achieve this is by researching your optimum keywords and incorporating them into your website as often as possible.  You can also get backlinks to increase your Page Rank using websites and forums.

Alternative methods which you have to pay for, include:

  • Sponsored links on the major search engines.
  • Promoting your website offline using various media such as print, television and radio.

The options available to you are potentially endless and thinking outside the box could pay off for you, just be sure what you do is legal and be careful not to get carried away and overspend!
